Sara before her first "big girl" gymnastics class
Super Nanny, I need you!
I would say that 5 nights out of the week my house looks and sounds like it is a commercial for the show, Super Nanny. Well, on Tuesday morning, I decided that I really need Jo-Jo to come to my house to save our family. On Tuesday morning Travis and Sara had gymnastics (it was Sara's first day of Tiny Tots...no more Mommy & Me!!). Their classes get out at the same time, but Travis was done just a minute before Sara. After he got his shoes, I told him to go sit by Leah and wait for me to get Sara. After I got Sara and her shoes, Travis was not by Leah. I really did not think much of it because he is obsessed with the vending machines and I just figured that he was over by them. Anyways, I was helping Sara with her shoes and then buckling Leah in her seat. While I was doing that I heard someone yell, "did anyone leave their kid in a red car?" I didn't think much of it because I didn't leave any kids in the car. Then I got up and headed to the vending machines...no Travy. Then I felt sick...kid, red car...OH NO!!! I walk outside to see a huge circle of mothers around my car with my son standing on the roof of my car with his arms up in the air. One of the gymnastics instructors grabbed him off and started to bring him inside. Red faced and about ready to DIE, I said that he was mine. I think that I was given the look of death. I said that I thought he was at the vending machines. Then the gymnastics instructor sarcastically repeated what I said and then mumbled something. Seriously, I don't think I have ever been so embarrassed in my life!! I did not say a word to Travis and just got in the car. Then came the tears. I felt sick and embarrassed the rest of the day. Luckily, Travis & Sara had a play date at the Bunkers (thanks Camille!!) or else it would have been a LONG day. Honestly, I am so afraid to go back to gymnastics, ever. I'm sure that all the moms are thinking that I am the most irresponsible person in the world, as with the people who work there. I don't think Travis will do that again, but who would have thought that he would have done it in the first place. I know that someday I will laugh about it and wish that I had taken a picture, but believe me, I don't think that any time soon I will forget that sight!
